Possibly the SOHC engine may have a longer interval due to more belt wrap around a single pulley and less likely (just about impossible) for valves to clash in the event of a belt breakage.

nah i was definately looking at the DOHC turbo engines in both. Same part number listed, just different service intervals...

weird eh? I'd still do it at 100,000 for what they cost.

yes this is an old thread but im having a similar sort of issue with my timing belt.

lining up the cams into the correct positions and starting the belt on the left hand inlet as it gets to the right hand exhaust its 1 tooth off.

driving me crazy!
