Ok I know there are a thousand threads on this but after reading them there is quite a bit of conflicting information. So I have started a thread to answer this question:
How should my catch can be plumbed in? It has one inlet and one outlet which is venting to atmos.
Some say tee both heads and crankcase into one, some say block the pcv valve etc etc. Can the pcv be removed or is it best to keep it? Please help.....

Don't block anything ...tee the heads together and run that hose to the can, then run a hose from the crankcase to the can.

I will have to tee heads and crank into 1 as I only have 1 inlet. Do I need the PCV valve if I am venting to atmos?

Yes you need PCV valve, it allows crankcase vapours and gasses to escape. Without it, you'd be pressurising the crankcase and you'll more than likely blow out some seals, or push the gasses past the rings into the combustion chamber (along with some oil).

Surely without it there would be less crankcase pressure as it would just be released to atmosphere???????

if you just have the crankcase breathing to atmo with no PCV valve it should not pressurise i would have though as it just breathes at its own rate

Blocking it and removing it are two different things.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. So do you reckon remove it or leave it? Or doesn't really matter?

My car runs one pipe off each of the heads and a third pipe from the crankcase breather all to the catch can.

Catch can is upside down and anything that would collect just drops out the bottom.

PCV is blocked.

haha sorry Joe i thought you meant you have to use the PCV.
Thats how i have mine setup Scott and all seems to be fine
