as above, you've basically spent 3k on making your car quieter and slower?

Righto, you've labelled the 3" as solid and 2.5" as dotted. The solid line gives more power and torque over pretty much the whole rpm band. Also you've labelled both as full turbo back systems. Either you've labelled them wrong and sorted the arguement (almost, seeing as how the 3" was not put back on for another comparison) or you've put not one but two feet in the oral cavity where words come from

Haha - living up to your name, jester

I wasn't expecting the new setup to actually bring HP/torque numbers down... worst case scenario, I assumed they'd stay the same.

I assumed wrong.

Nik,
got any links to the Prodrive diff back setup ?

Intra,
at what KW level do the standard Airboxes with silicon intakes start becoming a restriction on power or torque ?

Intra is proving the point of this thread, that the "2.5 is bettor" is a crock of shit

i'd call 230-240kw being the line you'd draw where big gains could be seen from upgrading to a monster pod.

its all about filter surface area, most pods on wrx's nowadays are either too small and restrictive, or unrestrictive and ineffective as a filter.

I've also included the temp differences on the 2.5" run vs the 3" run tonight.

As you can see, the 2.5 inch run was done during cooler times, there's about a 4 degree increase in the run tonight. So imagine it if it were similar temps tonight...

looks awfully similar to your previous power..

looks like 2.5 is teh failz.
