let get this right,
so you push the cog/star wheel towards the arrow until the you cant turn the wheels?
will it stop clicking once you get to the end?

then push back down about 4-5 click?
and repeat to the other side

i always do the opposite. I adjust handbrakes/drum brakes untill they are locked, then back off just till the wheel starts to spin and the shoes are lightly rubbing. Once you get in the vehicle and apply the brakes/handbrake and release you will find that they are no longer rubbing or just slightly.

I have never seen a drum overheat from being over adjusted, actully never at all. This is how i ran my rear drums on my first subaru on quite a few track days and never had any issues at all, also never had any problems in customers cars.

This is what I did yesterday and tested it out on the tunning arvo...in saying I didnt remember even using the handbrake at all lol just kicked the clutch ahaha
