Therefore it sometimes has trouble keeping stable boost control... been told its coz of the short length of inlet.
Sounds exactly like my car and i have silicon all the way and its not short either im running stock boost solenoid pretty sure its what dan said above.

Is it a high-pitched squealing type of noise? If so, mine does it too, and I would love to know how to fix it

When coming on boost in mine with standard TD04, if i am boosting up against a wall or whatever, I can also hear the wastegate chatter ..

Bellmouth 3" Dump, Silicone Intake, APS CAI.

Nothing bad, normal from what i've been told - It's just you hearing it pulsing from the boost solenoid?

I used to get this very noticable fluttering coming off the throttle when I had my APS CAI into a Silicon Inlet pipe into the Turbo. This was usually at high engine loads, low revs in 4th or 5th gear. Tighten up the spring so the BOV will only open at high boost pressures and the sound will go away.

I was runnning a Hybrid 50/50 GFB BOV.

A high pitched chirping during gear changes or coming off throttle is a sign your BOV spring is wound too tight and not letting enough air through the valve either back to the intake or to external atmospheric venting. Its the noise your turbo compressor blades are making as air stalls over the surface of the blades from reverse air pulses back through the throttle body - intercooler - turbo.

My noise doesn't occur during gear shifts or throttle lift off, only when the revs build slowly and it approaches full boost, and is easier to reproduce in 4th and 5th gear. Running 18psi, VF23, SSQV, FMIC, Apexi Pod and silicon intake. (Sorry for hijack )

Tighten up the spring on the BOV to prevent air leaking past the valve at high pressure as boost builds.

Either that or you have a leak in your FMIC piping.
