seems like no so much cutting/hacking involved with some front mounts...Hybrids appear to be within my budget - are these good/bad?
Should I be considering any other fmic's with similar price -1K?

I am already getting 201 on the asg dyno so not sure that a straight swap for the sti intercooler will yield any better results. maybe thats all you can get with a top mount on a piggy with the td05/20g.

Front mounts are legal on the rex?

STi top mount is much more efficient than the WRX one... why would you think you wouldn't get more power?

cause I dont have the rex one on now...I have a big ching chong spec top mount . bigger than a sti one on it...

Cause obv that all top mounts are the same and everyone knows u gain 200hp when u put on a fmic! Jeeze kym.

A little off topic, but has anyone seen or been able to log some data regarding the effectiveness of the water spray + STi top mount? I'd like to see how good it is/isn't. Or if there are any other ways to aid cooling with a toppy?

this is what your missing.. your china spec shitbox TMIC wouldnt be more efficient than the STi one. Size doesn't mean make it more efficient, core and material with measured flow would be a good way to measure efficiency.

So, sell ur shitter TMIC from China, and go buy yourself a proper STi one.

Or better yet, don't listen to any of the advice that people have given you in the thread, go speak to your local garage (MMS, ASG, X-speed, who ever) and ask them if ur china spec one is better than an STi one, for example.
