I have a constant flicker as the car moves like it's coming in and out of contact.

I thought it would be the wiring since I've had so much shit done with TT's, gauges and stereo shit. I might take a look at the switches tho, I only have two after all so shouldnt be too hard to rule them out.

yeah my99 done it when i bought it. Had a guy out to check the wiring on my water spray. Whatver he fiddled with made it go away. probably purely by accident so maybe a loose connection.

First off, i have a 03 WRX sedan, stock brant alarm.

So it looks like the 'door open' light switch for the boot latch is gone. I first noticed it when i had everything closed (all four doors, boot, bonnet and fuel lid) and i could see that the 'door open' light on my dash was on, noticed it last night. This morning i tried to open the car via the central locking button on the key and it didnt work, tried it with two keys with no luck. Checked all the door triggers and they seem to be ok, so i jumped in the back seat, closed all the doors, and pulled down the arm rest and little door to access the boot, and the boot light was still on.
So i then opened the boot with all doors shut and pressed down the trigger with my finger, and the boot light and 'door open' light on the dash stayed lit.

My question is, how do i correct this problem? Do i just need a new trigger thing, or is it something in the wiring? I have not touched anything around the boot latch since i have owned the car (almost 3 years) and it has been fine until now.
Need to solve this problem asap as i am intending to sell the car and it is rather annoying driving with the 'door open' light on, and having to manually open the door with the key.

Any help will be much appreciated.

God I love reading 2 year old posts, didn't realise it till I got to RayRays post.....they should be locked if not used for 6 months. Hit the light switch with some CRC or contact cleaner, push it in and out a few times, its probably just a bad contact or earth

Thanks for that, ill give it a shot tomorrow. If that doesnt work, would a new trigger do the trick? If i can get hold of one.

I would imagine they are pretty common to all GD subi's, someone is bound to have one laying around or just buy one from Subaru, can't be that expensive or try PM'ing DTrally, pretty sure he was wrecking one recently if all else fails. It may just need adjusting, try putting a bit of tape where it connects, if that works put something a bit more permanent in it's place, find the switch and with all the doors closed and the boot open have a play with it, that way you'll be able to see the problem......maybe better at night once you've found it.
