Sorry but your mistaken. The problem is the way Kev from Rexnet has described this part of the package. I have taken him to task on it and he now calls it a shroud as there is NO SPLITTER in the GC8 package.

A Splitter looks like the one below from the 01-06 package.

The reason he doesn't use a splitter on the gc8 package is due to their bonnet scoop being too small for him to use an efftective splitter, check out rexnet.com where he tells you why he has done it that way.
