Default Fuel Pump Prime

Hey guys,

Just a quick one for the tech gurus. Wondering, i have my Bosch 910 fuelpump in my MY00 WRX GC8 atm. It does it sometimes but more frequent lately.

When i turn the key to accessories (or the one after that) to allow my fuel pump to prime itself, it sounds alright. I turn my car over and its fairly delayed. Sometimes it wont actually start. As soon as i let the key go back to pre-ignition you can hear my pump finish fully primeing itself then she fires over first go.

Any idea why this could be happening? Im just concerned that my pump fails and it leans my car out.

Are you leaving it long enough to fully prime? Since I got my Link fitted my car takes ages to crank over if I don't wait until I hear the fuel pump relay click off.

You have the 910 installed with-out the non-return valve... priming is therefore as issue that can get worse with hot temps making it harder to get all the air out of the lines and rails quickly/in one prime.

Some people think its ok to have to prime your pump before starting to insure a clean start, I think its a RMFPITA and not the way it should be !

Install the 910`s non return valve(not that easy, requires a cap nut and custom made banjo tube) or slap a walbro in(like a factory pump it has a non return built into the pump itsself .)

Hmmm alright it was done by my mechanic so i thought it of been done. No problem, i am letting it fully prime till it stops. When she doesnt kick over, you can hear it finish primeing itself and then she kicks over.

ALl i really wanted to know was if it was cactus and going to lean out my car. If not thats fine, i can deal with it.
