if it throws a CEL get it checked and not rev the shit out of the car, "italian style tuning" doesn't fix cars, and you can only damage it further

well it didnt happen straight away when i put my foot down on 4th. but it was at 90ks then i put my foot down.. 100 110 then when it hit 115 or 120 it boged out then accelerated again.

Boost cut aye.. well strangley enough, my boost guage says its hitting 17 PSI on 4th and 5th. i questioned that earlier but didnt bother to take it somewhere. Thats deffinetly not right a stock WRX doesnt make 17 pSI. A mate of mine told me boost readings are in 2nd or 3rd . 2nd or 3rd says 14.75 or 15 which is right i believe. Gues im gonna have to take it in workshop. But this is the first time its happen to me never experienced it before.

If i do a sprint going up the gears its fine notings wrong, or maybe i havent thrashed it up to 4th yet. :S

17psi is boost cut.... gauges are not 100percent accurate as well... best to get it checked....

a exhaust will cause boost spikes

i see.. what causes boost cut though, i mean my car is completely stock with no mods. i dont think its been tweaked at all, besides the muffler, its not even a FULL exhaust :S

But yeah i'll go get it checked soon

yeah i am possitive. Actually having only owned the car for 4th months i cant be too possitive.. but yes the previous owner said its completely stock. Maybe going against to much force of air , to much load at higher gear caused it to boost ? :S

Well i'll still get this checked, but since im due for 100 000 k maybe i should get that done on the way within the next few weeks, quite low on cash at the moment

This is the first time its ever happened. every other day when i do the same, put it in 4th from 90 and step on it nothings EVER happen at all. Just on this particular day and the only change i can think of is weather conditions :S

Sometimes cold weather can cause boost cut .. but you are getting it.

Also check your lines to the wastegate of the turbo, if the WG isn't opening, you will certainly hit boost cut, trust me on that one

If you are spiking to 17psi in 4th, 5th .. something isn't right might.

Take it to ASG.

Yeah a dodgy wastegate actuator might be the cause of a boost cut if it is that. Not allowing the wastegate to bleed enough psi off then it hits the limit and the ECU makes the car stop so it doesnt overboost into detination and engine failure.

But like ^^^ said, Workshop to read CEL faults and it'll say excatly what it is.
