um ... have u got bigger brake system (calipers n rotors) that won't fit into 17" wheel??? if not, i wouldnt brother a 18"

Yea gotta agree there!
1) Tyres are cheaper
2) Rims are cheaper
3) Not as much air around the piss ant size brakes on a WRX. Means it looks more filled out.

Have you toyed with the idea of getting the standard rims powdercoated?? A few lads on the forum have done it and it looks the goods. Cheap as too More money for top shelf mods
