Ummm....if you can't link up a laptop to your Autronic, you probably shouldn't be tuning it.

So let me get this right...you had an Autronic fitted AND tuned (presumably by a workshop who know what they're doing?)...now you want to download tuning programmes to re-tune it yourself?....but you don't know how to download or then connect to the ECU?...and then you want to play around with the tune?....hmmm...excuse me for saying, but this just has a tiny bit of a hint of a recipe for disaster....but I may be wrong, given that you are superman.

i wouldn't have a play unless you had a small grasp of what's going on and naturally a lamba meter wired up.

saying this, i still think its a great idea having a feel for what's going on and seeing the inner workings, just don't get carried away too much by the "auto-tune" feature!

ahh the good ol link days of yesteryear, fresh map from the uk! yeah, that would work!!

i quess you guys have no idea... i am a motor mechanic by trade.. i used to work on the nissan most of my 10 years that i was a motor mechanic manly the skyline GTR.. the real horse power cars...
just wanted to see if any one has tried to download the software and tested it out on their car.. but of course i had to get smart ass comments .. only joey89 and wrxrw was the nice guys that sent a nice comment... so i am wasting my time asking questions on here..

Mmmm alot of people actually more or less go fishing for responses. Maybe if you told people that you had some mechanical experience, they'd of had a little more respect for your question. I only say this because as smart arse as those comments were, they all had a reason. If you are inexperienced with the workings of a tune and car mechanicals (although you are mechanically), chances are things could turn bad.

I however couldnt really tell you as i am not tuner myself ;p heh.

Umm take a chill pill.

The problem is you haven't mentioned any previous experience and from past examples, most people have zero idea about tuning and end up doing something silly. This is why most people recommend seeing a Subaru specialist for the tuning (you don't go and see a gynecologist when you have an ear infection do you?).

Now if you could explain your issue better I'm sure someone can help out. i.e. are you unable to install the software to the laptop, are you unable to plug into the ECU etc etc.

When I bought an Autronics it came with a software CD that I pushed into the coffee cup holder thing on the front of my 'puter. After that it all worked. Did you get one of these and a download serial cord/jack plug?
