P15 housings on VF34...
Hi all,
There seems to be some debate as to whether the P15 exhaust housing off the VF35 will bolt straight up to a VF34. Interchangeability between IHI turbos has long existed from as early as the 'TC' series... and as some know with the earlier 20' series (VF28 is simply a VF23 with a P18 housing instead of P20 etc etc). This is able to be done because IHI seem to only alter the A/R of the inlet snout, and seldom change the rear exhaust trubine specs on various models. So far my searches have produced the exhaust housing specs: http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/mechanicals/492-ihi-turbos-specs-faq.html Which seem to be identical here- both 47.9mm etc. And Stace pays mention to this idea: http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthre...2&page=3&pp=10 Could someone give me a definative answer on this? I currently have a VF35 lemon, would be nice to know that I can at least salvage the exhaust housing and put it to use on a ball bearing item as an option...
