Default HELP: CEL code, not listed?

Hey guys,

Got a CEL last night while on the road, so pulled over, checked basic fluids (etc) and then limped it on home. After carrying out a service on the car today as it was planned to do it anyway (oil + filters).

While i was there i decided to carry out the CEL code check. Ie, connect the black plugs and count the flashes. This is where the problem is. I counted over 180 long flashes...And i did it twice to confirm. The code system only goes up to 174.

The compounding problem is that my Delta Dash has decided to turn itself off everytime i turn it on, so i cant use it to get the error code.

Any ideas? If not, I'll just drive it to subaru.

Thanks

Shit!! you counted 180 flashes?!?! I think it does that so you fall asleep and forget what is actually happening! Take it to subaru.. or see someone that has a OBD2 Connector to review and remove the code.

ODB2 connector costs $40 or $50 over the net and the software is free and easy to use....you'll pay $50 at subaru to get your code read...i've done my maths and bought the cable

Fixed thanks to wangara subaru.

A diagnostic connector was loosely together so it was going on and off trying to reset the ecu. Basically made the cel stay on even without a code.

So its been pulled apart and its all better. Free of charge too.

well the Delta dash is meant to do it, but as above its having its own dramas. When it rains it pours

might be handy to have both though, incase they both poops themselves again. thanks
