Two words....

angle grinder

Seriously don't be a cheapass. Just get new front springs. Even second hand springs in good condition are fine.

Big rims actually make a car look higher than what it is, so maybe not such a good idea to do that.

Do you have adjustable strut tops at the front? This can raise the front a little too...

If you dont like the looks then I suggest you investigate (search google etc) buying yourself some some quality lowering springs. I like Whiteline Flatouts but there are other good brand options.

Then get yourself a good wheel alignment done a week or so after installing the springs. Cost will be around $500 for springs and install and the wheel alignment can vary but shouldn't be more than $100.

Good investment for you car and wont break the bank or your back riding around on modded (oxy torch) springs.

Coilovers are the best suggestion but will be double the cost at least but as mentioned you will be able to adjust the height to suit. Ballistic should be able to get you a set for $12XX I believe.

that is def all kthx

Lowering by 30mm is actually quite a lot. (A lot of aftermarket springs only lower by ~20mm others ~50mm)

Subaru's inherently have the front 'looking' higher when in-fact they are both the same height.

As for getting springs 're-sized' it can be done, but it will make everything absolute poo.

what do you mean make everything poo????

It is a technical term for saying your car will handle like shit. Lowering your car effects the suspension geometry, which is why companies make roll center kits for use on lowered cars.

Also, the design of a spring is critical so you aren't over sprung. Chopping a spring actually increases its stiffness. Changing the height of a spring can change a vast number of factors.

You are better off purchasing the correct spring for your application and if you are going to 'drop it like its hawt' get a roll center kit while you are at it to retain some handling.
