Hi Tuna

That isnt exactly true

we have proven allong with MSR that the 2.5 inch rear diff does not loose any power what so ever but increase torque by about 10nm..

through the whole rev range power is pretty much the same kw/Hp but see a large jump in Torque

Considering Tuna picked up 30nm of torque going from a 2.5" to a 3" muffler and another user on here with a forester swapped from 3->2.5 and required more boost to make the same power, also the graphs that I saw on rexnet (please note, i don't frequent rexnet so i may have missed some) the cars in question were hardly modified and the graphs were pretty inconclusive ... I'm not convinced.

I have a MANTA system. It is a really nice system! Very quiet, no drone, sounds great on WOT.

just a quick question

The muffler is really what gives off the noise right?, Do the oval tips really give off a quieter exhaust note?

Ive got a cannon atm and i want to change to oval tip because i can't stand the drone inside the car, change just the muffler?, or spend more money and get a whole new exhaust with a bigger resonator and cat located further down

hey rich that would be great, yeah lately i have been so bothered with my exhaust drone, its really getitng to me. so im either considering changing the whole pipe with a bigger resonator or just the axle back with oval muffler.

be good if you could fit another resonator at the axle back pipe.

So I rang Hitech for a quote on a 3 inch Turbo back system including that muffler (08 STI) - $3990 plus delivery of $125

still looking around but not much out there - one quote was $2500 installed.

Hate being ripped off cause the car is new

Like it has been said 1000 times. If you buy a brand new car, you will get analled for mods, especially when its changed its outright shape etc
