Hey all, a friend of mine has had his MY00 running like absolute crap ie. the car surging when accelerating, trying to die on idle, and seems to be overfueling when putting about at 50/60kmh. Had a brand spanking AFM put in not too long ago, not sure about the 02 but I remember someone on here saying how to check if the 02 is shagged, but I couldn't find the thread as to how to check. The car has a Ecutek series 2, and today we tried putting in a standard MY00 ecu to see if it would run but it instead just died. Does anyone have any clue whats wrong, because it spent two weeks at the tuner of Ecutek in SA only to find that they had no idea what was wrong...

Simply unplug the o2 sensor and see if the car runs properly. If so replace it.

Open bonnet, go to dump pipe on exhaust, look for the long circular object screwed into the dump pipe. Follow the lead to a male/female plug and unplug it. Like MY99 said, if it runs good disconnected then replace it.
