Default Turbo problem?

Hi guys, i searched but could not find an answer to my problem.. the other night i was driving on the freeway and as i was picking up speed it seemed like i got boost cut.. the car sort of just stopped for a second like i hit something n then was fine again... the engine light did come on though. This morning the engine light went off itself, its the first time i started the car since the "boost cut".

When i drive, doesnt matter what gear i'm in, if i put my foot down on the throttle the revs fly up to about 5k or 6k n the car aint moving pretty much just alot of noise... and if i hold it on the 5k rev after about 5 seconds the car will start boosting. if i'm in first it takes of fast but happens in second and onwards. what could the problem be?

If its revving up and your not going anywhere then its your clutch. Surely you would know that tho? You must be really hard on your clutch to screw it allready. Looks like your car is 06 or 07.

Edit": also you shouldnt have done any mods to your car without getting a tune. Could have leaned out to much and your up for a new motor. Try claim that on warrenty

Sounds like boost cut and maybe a fucked clutch. Best to take it in to a workshop and diagnose it.

yeah, the wierd smell, would be your clutch lining frying, upgrade your gearbox to a 6speed and your clutch to a sprung centre brass button and it will prolly cope with your driving style = awd burnouts

my06 ... built late 2005 though, it already had 44,000 km when i bought it, i haven't thrashed it much so i don't know why the clutch would fail so quick... maybe the owner before me fucked it..

how much is a clutch replacement? what sort of clutch should i be looking at ?

about 550 to buy it, about another 550 to fit it including machining your flywheel, joe (balistic) recently got a good deal on an exedy hd organic one, maybe do a search of his threads for more info
