Default power steering and alt belt

Guys my power steering and alternator belt snapped and disapeared on me.
and the one behind it that does the air con is just about gone as well.
Anyway ill pick up the belts from subaru tomorrow morning
just with the steering one how does it go back on , is it just in one normal loop around the pullys or does it go some way different,
any body got a diaggram or pic to show just to make sure i do it right.

Thanks

Tim

cant go wrong mate, the power steering runs onto the crank and alternator and is adjusted with the alternator. the a/c belt has its own adjusting pulley and runs to the crank.

easy job to do

Yep easy job - i watched the mechanic change mine

Sorry to hijack but one of my drive belts is still making a rubbing / scratching noise after replacement by Subaru- I've been told that i may need to replace the pullies.

Any adjustment or magic spray that will get rid of the noise?
The belts don't look to be wearing quickly or rubbing against anything so i cannot pinpoint what's causing the noise.

save yourself some dollars mate & just get them from auto one, the dayko part numbers are:5pk0875 for the power steering one, 4pk0890 for the ac one

the power steering one goes around the alternator 2 and yes its just a simple triangle shape loop, the ac one has the tensioner on it, its pretty foolproof as the 2 belts have different amounts of grooves on them and you just match the number of grooves with the grroves on the pullys

absolute piece of piss diy job

i'm guessing all ej dohc turbo motors are the same, this info is right from a 99 GT forester, same as a 99 gc8 wrx

hope it helps, cost about $20 each from memory

There you go champ - that's how they run on my 99 WRX.

And the Power Steering Belt (black) sits in front of the AC Belt (Blue)

Thanks heaps, Yeah the adjustment bolt looks like its on the power steering pump is that right cant see any on alternator.

subaru said about $40 for p/s and alt belt and $28 for AC, CRank one.

You think repco or auto one be ok though, just a belt hey.
Be supprised if they have in stock
