mmm this is what i was steering towards, i have a k&n pod which has been on the car for approx 30,000, havnt cleaned it for about 10,000 but it doesnt look that bad, i was thinking afm but wouldnt it do it 24/7, see the car will run fine for one day and then it will play up the next. Im thinking i might have to book it in at ASG

I think I might have this problem on my MY99.

How was it solved? Can the brant be yanked out and replaced of is it fairly hard? (as one would expect for an immobiliser, that's the point).

Might be a sticking throttle body. Check the connection and spray some lube into that sucker.
