Default What Turbo i got?

To make my life easier, and not have to try and find it out would any of you happent to know what turbo comes standard on a 98 sti RA engine. I just got the engine and not sure what turbo it is. Someone mentioned vf22...thank you..

VF22 was on the 22B
MY98 RA was VF24/28 (same thing, different number)

VF30 came in the MY00 RA(?)

Thanks guys,and i read the turbo review that u provided for another user....is it a good turbo or should i get ready to purchase another?

depends on what you want out of the car

VF24/28/29 is great for street. With the right mods can push over 200kw atw (proof Blaise's RA with TMIC)

But with turbos, depending on its past life, this may eventually need to be replaced. I would go for the VF35 as a replacement, similar the these 3 turbos, but has a higher top end. The other is VF34, which is a favourite among most ppl here.

I got FMIC, apexi Fc,4.44 diff and g/box, elec/bc and other bits and pieces. Want a quick street car that wont be left for dead by everyone else..yeah most my mates go 4 the 34 or 35s but wondering if its worth the swap if my turbo holds,,,i dont like how they only hold 17 psi

they will run good up to 20psi. just taper it back as you rev out, depends on how much fuel you have to play with.
