Ok, got the thermostat from Malz (thanks) but noone sells the seal/gasket. I take it you have to get an OEM one from Subaru? Tried Autoone, Repco and Malz. Supercheap can suck a knob.

Just bumping this, chee reckons he didnt need to remove the radiator, yet on inspection of mine i couldnt even find my thermostat housing through all of my bullshit in the engine bay. Was there a huge mechanical difference placement wise of the thermostat between the 94 and 00? Also is the thermostat usually located on the incoming coolant or outgoing. Id assume incoming....So can anyone point me to where abouts it is? Thanks

bottom hose. on the end that connects to the engine. the metal housing of where the hose connects to theres 2 bolts. thats the thermostat housing.
you can take out the radiator as its only a couple of bolts. but i have some tools that helped me out (small socket set) and meant that i didnt have to take out the radiator. no difference in the location of the thermostat throughout the whole EJ range.
