Default complete 257 into my99

as most workshops are closed being saturday night i thought i would ask all the mod veterans who may be able to help.

i have a my99 and have blown the egine im toying with the idea of a complete 257 with either a td06-20g or a gt3076R, autronic PnP and obviously the supporting mods.

The question i ask as i have searched the forum and could only see Humie had a us spec 257.

will this motor fit into the MY99 engine bay without any major dilemma's. ill be running a FMIC and a pod as i dont think the air box fits and i know the sti top mount wont go in easily.

any insight will be appreciated.

physical external dimensions between the 2.5L ej257 and normal 2L ej205/207 are the same.

It will bolt in no dramas.

For a complete long block, the only issue is your ECU wiring as sphooling has pointed out but there are ways around it, just a PITA
In addition, there is also the potential issue with AVCS, which you'll need the appropriate ECU to deal but you can always disable this

In general, always ways to make things work, just a question of how much time and $ do you have to make it all work well like OEM

Why dont you just go a short block, its plug and play

No changes to wiring if he just uses his current my99 heads on the 257 block. plug and play.

Though, while they are off, a porting and knife edge the bifuractors wouldn't go astray/

Not much point going a full long block conversion if you're using the existing heads
