Road Car - Subaru Coolant + optional Redline Water Wetter.
Race Car - Distilled Water + Redline Water Wetter. Have 1st hand evidence that a car will run hotter with coolant. Rally car had cooling system replaced and was filled with coolant mixture. ECU complained and was throwing warning codes with coolant reaching 105c, not good. System was flushed and replaced with distilled water and water wetter only. Didn't ever go over 95c. This is for a competition car used under harsh conditions so may not be a good example for your road car. |

I did previously speak to redline direct and they insisted that their product provides adequate corrosion inhibition. What it wont do is provide anti freeze. This should not be a problem in Perth So redline water wetter and distilled water should be adequate, but if you are not confident, just go factory subaru stuff.

What he said $25.41
I changed the radiator today *yay* I did it all by myself Should post some photos up of the nice looking unbent fins I used one bottle of water wetter (355mL) and filled the rest up with pre-mixed radiator coolant that I purchased at oxfords. Temp needle sits just below middle, I'm happy with it =D Water wetter supposely spose to reduce temp up to anywhere near 20%. Thanks for the replies fellas ________ VAPOURIZER PIPE Last edited by fffffred; 22-08-2011 at 06:00 PM. |
