Default oh were oh were is my ecu...

were's the ecu located in the 03 sti's....and, if there was damange to it, would there be visual evedence, or is it just a black box??

I guess it would be in the same place as mine (MY01) under the passenger floor, just below the dash, lift the carpet back and you will see a silver panel, unscrew it and the ECU is in there.

It depends on damage, a smell test is always good, if it smells burnt, look for a burnt patch on the board, look for swollen Capacitors and so on and so forth. (This method applies for PC's so it wont be any different a way for any electrical device i guess)

If u were to look for your ecu, you should find it where the front passenger's foot well is located.

just had a look at it but didnt take it out of the covering....looks to nasa 4 me.....might go get some help from a pro or something.

if there is a problum with it would i have to get a new one....and if so should i get an ecutek or something...soz 4 all the questions new to the computer side of things.

As far as I know an ecutek is just a reflash of your standard ECU, if it is rooted you might need a whole new ECU. You can get a Link 2nd hand for about $800

Mate I am no mehanic, but write your problem up and somebody may be able to help you. If you want to know exactly what is wrong, take it to a specialist like RMS.

u have a problem with ur boost so u are checking the physical state of ur ecu?. hehe
