all you need is your heads/manifold and its bolt on to the short block

but i suggest you change the gaskets as any gaskets that has been sitting around for a while is not a good idea

Also if he short motor isn't new and your motor has a few k's on it, maybe do the timing belt and any of the idler pulleys on the front that are a bit tired sounding. Other than that, its a straight forward swap and a very tough bottom end.

If your buying an EJ207 short motor, price one up from Subaru...you'll find that its not quite as expensive as you might think (depending which dealer you get the price from )

i have a sti 02 bottom end in mine, everything fits straight back on for my car - however its a 02 wrx , not a gc8,

ring someone like speedworks, they were helpful when i built mine,

and go see paul or maybe john - keating at Regent Motors in aussie park, he can help with brand new gear, i got my bottom for 3k i think

If you can read this you qualify as a Club member....Going back a month or 2 P Diddy Club price was $2500 +Tax. Contact is John Keating @ Regents and the number is 08 9273 2050. Brand new Sti Short Motor, he had some still in stock when I last spoke to him.
Now if any one wants to know if its the true forged pistons apparently Tim Slako from Dynosaur (West :8-) Racing has used them. Give him a call and ask if they are the real deal Aus MY02Sti Forged Pistons or the Hyperspastics Jap Spec Sti etc. Post the answer back here if you do find out.
