Thumbs down Quiet exhaust

G'day

I've got an xforce s/s tbe exhaust that is very quiet.
It had the oval muffler which I changed to a cannon, removed the resi, fitted a Hypertech dump with splitter and headers from ASG but this made no difference to the sound level! Are all 06/07's quiet? Any suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

Funny, I was reading a thread on NASIOC yesterday where a guy said his exhaust quietened down after he put headers on, or some such...don't think that would quieten it down as much as you seem to be experiencing though...

AFAIK x-force cannons were said to be quite loud! I know my old oval one was reasonably loud!

Headers definitely quieten them down....not because they flow less, but because they change the beat of the exhaust note. It smooths them out and reduces noise.

This is what I noticed from my own experience, and from my brother-in-laws WRX...his was particularly quiet after putting the headers on!

No the system was quiet even before the headers went on, have not noticed much difference in the level after headers fitted.

Hmm, thats strange Rexpress, I have a full 3' S/S TBE zorst on my Pig STi, it has the oval magnaflow muffler and I wouldn't call it quiet. I wouldn't say its VERY loud, but it certainly gets the attention of passers by. I haven't done headers or such. The zorst is an RMS system. (Norm Butler makes them though I think).

My system only has the oval muffler in it, no other resi's.

Cheers

equal length headers will do that to the exhaust note possibly?
