Default coilovers gone buy??

Hey guys, it looks like one of my coilover struts might have given up on me...
yesterday i was driving tha car and it was all fine... then took it down to the shops later on and the front left corner is makeing a terrible sounds.. like a metal on metal noise similar it if your pads are low on your brakes...
i dont think its the brakes as its happening when im driveing and moving... (i can rock the car and it makes a slight noise too when stopped) this is why i think its the struts, do they need re-gassing or something?
my question is, does this mean the coilover is busted up?
can these be rebuilt? or better to buy a new set

i have had them in my car for 2 years now and travelled about 35 000 k's.....

Im in similar situation, from what ive read you have to send it over east for a rebuild, easier/worthwhile just replacing them.

Wilkinson Suspension can rebuild them for you. I have heard they are the best in the business when it comes to rebuilding coilovers.

All suspension parts are the same in terms of how they "work". Some are obviously a lot better than others. So I don't see why they won't be able to rebuild what you have. Good luck with it though.

Sounds like it could just be a wheel bearing Adam!... get it checked out before looking into rebuilding the coilover too much!

That's a good point jimmy. I'll have it looked at this week. Hopefully it won't cost too much haha

When i needed mine rebuilt (Jan 07) nobody in WA could do it. I was told as they were Japanese, parts were hard to find etc etc
Back then Wilko's could only rebuild a selected few brands.
I sent them to TSR in Slacks Creek QLD
Full rebuild cost about $340 for the rears + post (from memory)
