Zeratul909, how about adding a fuel pump upgrade into that equation?

I've had similar basic mods done to my 07 STi (tune, exhaust) and the bang for your buck is definitely there. A noticeable increase in poke =

I'm also looking at going the next step and have asked a few questions here myself about turbos and the such, but the damn economy collapse has put my job in peril, so no mods for the moment

But, when it comes good, I'd be looking at upgrading my turbo, and then spending the good money on the handling, after all, that's what these cars are about!!

Cheers
Zombee

If you do what was described in the first post you will "easily" get the power figure your after.

That the benefit of going a big FMIC and turbo straight up. It will do it all with no fuss, and, if your in Port Headland, the hot weather can make things harder, thus the "over-engineering" of the system, to ensure performace and reliability in hot conditions.

Avo turbos have a good reputation but are pricey.
The GTPS02 will give you the power and is a bit smaller than the Avo500 - less laggy.
For that power you need to decap or get bigger injectors,
Maybe not essential but good for safety/reliabilty-
a Walbro fuel pump unpgrade,
fully synthetic oil.

ˆˆˆI so agree!
At the end of the day its really what you want to do with your car...
I did epic suspension upgrades as first mods on my car which i ran for around 18mths before i went upgraded to 3'' zorst and Verso.
The good thing is '06/'07 STi's can serve your thirst for power in stock form and is still good fun.

Thanks everyone for the input, great to see everyone having their say.

Suspension and stopping power are definatly high up on the list, I just didnt bother putting them down here just to focus the convo more toward my power goal, but I do have my rotors, pads, coilovers, wheels etc all picked out.

As for being in Hedland, I'll be moving to the Como area next Jan/Feb next year so I'm going to get these mods after then, so I should be good. And yes, its stinking hot here right now.

I'll know very little about turbo upgrades so I'll definatly have to look into the GTPS02.

Thanks again all.

Depends on how you drive, if you like to beat up on it then I disagree.

I would stick to your original plan and then upgrade suspension and handling, that's the best bang for your buck over an extra 20 or 30hp.

Yeah I dont think i really WANT to go over 250kw, I think will be QUITE happy with that, If I want to go further a little later, I'll deal with that when I get to it.

And yeah, been doing the research for suspension and handling, might post a thread down the track with my results and get some more opinions.
