I sold my turbo to my mate for his GC8. He is wondering if you can plumb a external wastegate up to it? Would it serve any purpose? Or would it be wank factor? Or is he better off putting a screamer pipe on? I know Quinner has a screamer on his VF34 and it sounds stella!

You can, but there's no real benefit - Use the internal wastegate.

The only reason is for wank. It won't be very loud unless you're running some descent boost.

EWG's sound like shite without running a decent amount of boost, it will make noise, but a pretty poxy one

Quinner bought my old rex, and anyone who heard it would probably agree it sounds pretty good on gate for a small turbo. I did it purely for the fact i love the sound of a screamer, did bugger all in terms of improved performance though.

Now, a screamer on a 50mm HKS gate running a 3037s sounds a whole lot better..
