Default Air Conditioner Re-gas

what is the going rate in the metro area? it is $135 down south here which seems a little steep.

What typically gets done in a air con service? are there any filters that need changing?

I have just replaced the TX valve and hence drained all gas out of the lines.
I notice now that the heater fan is not working.
Is this normal as a precautionary thing as it was working prior and I am sure I have replaced all wires?

on a aircon service its only called a service if your aircon is still working btw. if it isnt then its a regas ussualy a regas ussualy only happens if orings , compressor, txt valve or evaporator is leaking. OR the car is old due to the fact that the car uses rubber hoses meaning that the gas can leak eventually and other reasons.

a service would include a new filter or reciver drier with new o rings, o rings on compressor depending on type, the system is pressure tested then has a vac remove all air and moisture from the system. then regas . dye is ussualy included. its very rarely that people service there airconditioning its a very good idea due to its basicly like serviceing your car, about every 4 years you should get a service done on your aircon.

we say bout 170 + dye includeing 12 month warrenty

^ At least someone has an idea.

Air con servicing, and Aircon in general are a bit like Automatic transmission repairers. Alot of sharks out there.

Sure you can go and stick 600g of gas in a car for 120, but i can guarantee you for that there will be no dye in the lines, no oil in compressor, no leak detecting nitrogen purge, nothing.

A proper aircon service would be, new reciever dryer and o-rings. Purged with nitrogen and dye. Then filled with gas and uv checked again. And vac'd for a long period of time! But that would be about 180 + Dryer

180-190 is usually a good price for a proper service!
