depends on how your going to use the car.. everyones going to quote the best performing tyre but may not be the best choice. i will be considering a similar tyre for my next set. im on yoko ad08s too and while they perform fantastically in grip and are still rather quiet compared to the re050's i was feeding it. but still a very soft compound for a daily and expensive. i dont live in perth so our crap roads just cheesegrate tyres to death and the highways too.. in perth they are great but you lose soo much of that performance on most roads they hardly serve any purpose but to look cool and cost you money. my car has never been tracked and think a spare set of rims with real business tyres would still be a way better way of going about it than rocking up on half worn street tyres even if they are good. im definitely going back to a hard compound. was using er300's (still expensive but GT tyre) and they have been my fave tyre so far as they lasted over 2 years of daily and highway driving, provided adequate grip in the dry and better wet grip than either summer slick. easier to break traction too, fun not fast, and they last. they are standard issue on mercs and beamers, even the police use them.

I use Yokohama S Drives (245/40/19) for street and AD08 (245/45/18) for the track and rate them both highly for those purposes. S Drives handle wet and dry equally well but don't like the track. AD08's are not r comps but are seriously sticky when warmed up.

Where can I get tyres under $1k pick up, non-fitted/fitted? 800 or so would be good. I am just about due for new ones.
245/40/18 Should I consider 245/45/18 ? Currently looking at: Nitto Invo (current) KU36 Can get them landed in Perth for around $1k, so someone in Perth should be able to sort those out for $800-ish. Don't want to spend AD08 type money, but want a semi-slick/performing street tyre.

Would 18x9.0 with an offset of +20 be too much offset on an 06/07 STi?
Options are either +36 or +20 on the rims I have my eyes on... I would rather go with 18x8.5 but this width only comes with offset +50, that sucks... so just wondering if I've got it right, the lower the offset number the more it will stick out on the sides, and concave wheels are more concave the lower the number hey?

Flush and for function I would suggest the +36...aggressive and poke go the +20
using the Perth-WRX mobile app

Ah yea fk. Lucky I havent placed my order yet. .will go with +36 then...
Don't have coilovers, so getting lots of camber would have been a head fuck...
