Sounds kinda like my problem a little bit .. Good luck is all i can say Smoke from the turbo, particularly white smoke is indicative of a turbo seal on way out?

I have put an additional solid earth on my car, and it has been fine for the last week or so. Holding 14.2v's

I take it you have no CEL/Codes either which will make it even harder to diagnose, even harder again if it's intermittant.

How much did you pay for the AFM out of curiousity? I got quoted $864 from $ubaru.

white smoke on start up definatly indicates oil seawl in turbo on the way out...
afm's from repco jus make sure itsnot a cheap and bodgy one anything like that i would definatly go genuine..... might be a bit expensive for bug eyes onwards but at least u no its correct

Exclamation

As with any diagnosis:

1) List ALL mods and year and make of WRX - we are not crystal ball gazers.
2) List parts recently changed on the car - which you have done.
4) Find a Subaru select monitor or similar program - to read any logged codes and errors.
3) For the quickest resolution ring ASG, MMS or RMS and describe whats happening - chances are they will pinpoint the problem in a matter of minutes.
Otherwise drive around and chat with them in person.
