Default Splattering

Herro Again,

Just got my car the other day, and am having an issue not sure if anyone can think of what it could be. Firstly my check engine light came on, and then when I boosted after around 4K RPM it started splattering, it was not boost cut but something else.

The other thing I have noticed is since arriving in QLD it must be running mega rich, because I am now getting 100K's to half a tank . Reading the manual check engine light means an issue with the Emissions control system? Until I take it somewhere it would be good to know that I am not killing it.

What fuel have you put in it?
Havent put in the E10 or whatever it is that is over there have you?
Was it ok when you got it off the truck?
I agree with Joe, dont drive it until a workshop has looked at it.

When it came off the truck it had 1/4 tank of old fuel. I put in a full tank of 98 Vortex. It could just be crappy fuel, might top it up with Ultimate tonight and some booster. It feels good this morning, but I did not cain it. But yeah I definitely will take it somewhere.

On a side note having it raised to 4x4 spec sucks

I had that thought, I remember a couple weeks back my mate had the same issue, and turned out to be his AFM. But I think I will take it somewhere, I also notice the engine bay feels hotter, even though my temps are fine. But then again the humid weather could be a cause. Such a pain in the ass too as it had a major service 2 days before it left perth and now more dramas :\.

I wouldn't be driving it too much until you've had subaru put their analyser on it. But my guess is AFM. Does it kind of behave like its got rotational idle at low revs?

No nothing like that, it is fine today, I will disconnect the battery and clear the codes. I had this happen once in Perth but it never splattered as hard and the code cleared it self after a while. Plus I am finding it hard to get into gears heh, getting the oil changed tommorow, I am not having much luck with it ATM.
