yep pretty normal. I used to find selecting first then going to reverse was the easiest for me.

Now I just have to remember to pull the lever up with the six speed and hope I don't select 6th..

i do tell that to everyone put it 1st then try reverse again and it always works

hasnt happen in my 6speed yet *touch wood* I've done that mistakes heaps of times putting it into 6th and stalling it

6 speed gearboxes are different. They DO have a synchro on the reverse gear.
