keypad / imobiliser problem 05 sti after flat battery.
Hey everyone,
I've been overseas for 5 weeks and stupidly forgot to disconnect my battery on my STI so when I got back today the battery measured 5 volts and the remote lock wouldn't work and the car made no sound when I turned it over (though the imobiliser light was on solid light just no keypad lights as usual). I d/c the -ve and charged it for half the day and started it up fine but I can do this without entering a code into the keypad (it is just dead when I press any number). When I turn the ignition off the 1 lights up as it should but when I turn the ignition on one of the lights blinks 3 times (I think it's the 3 off memory). What the hell? Kinda scary cause you need no code to start it now

Sleep mode........
If the vehicles battery is disconnected or its voltage drops below 10 volts, the system will automatically enter Sleep Mode (no lights on keypad when ignition is off) to conserve it's internal battery. To wake the system. Disconnect the battery. Turn the ignition to on. Reconnect the battery. press any button to wake the system from sleep mode. Last edited by Rexy03; 15-03-2009 at 08:35 PM. |

This happened to me a few weeks ago when i went OS for 6 weeks,
its just gone into valet mode and you will have 9 starts before it goes back to normal. Every time you go to start it now 1 particular number will light up, for example 6 then this means you have 6 starts left before it goes back to normal. Just keep switching the ignition on and off (without starting the car) until it goes back to normal and you have to put your pin in. Hope this helps, but if its not the case i suggest you take it straight to subaru. Wayne Quote:

yeap works fine now. Crank is marginally slower Letting the battery go flat is bad. Seems to hold the charge fine over night, I know from my last car you can do this only 2 or so times till it needs replacing.
Thanks for the help
