pete (Intra) did some logging years ago that proved it was counter productive to remove the airbox etc without some tuning on the ECU to take advantage of the air flow.

so make sure you follow up with a retune!

(by airbox, i refer to the resonator/etc)

I got a MRT pod given to me that fits strait onto my AFM but am super reluctant to do so. Given that it doesn't come with an airbox and sits relatively close to my bonnet vent (GC8) I'm concerned about water induction. What's peoples experience with foam pods and water?

1) A foam pod is effectively a sponge.
2) Putting it directly under an uncovered vent means it will get wet when it rains/gets washed.
3) Sponges hold a finite amount of water.
4) ............
5) Profit???

Guys, for those of you who use (or have used) standard OEM panel filters, how often do you find the need to replace them?

I've had two services on my Betty so far. The air filter was replaced at the first service, (~8,000km) as it was fairly filfthy. Coming from Victoria (ex-demo) that was hardly surprising. However it was replaced again in a recent service, after only 7,500km. I would have thought they should last twice as long as that.

If the standard filters clog up that badly so quickly, I might order something else that can at least be cleaned a couple of times before the need to replace it.

they should last about 20,000km roughly, in our service at work and when i do them at home i replace them roughly at 20,000km. but some of the time they just need a gud blow of and they can go again.
