Default Winged race seat

I need to replace my current Sparco seat so I can use my 5-6 (groin) harness as the current seat has no hole, I was looking at the Cobra Race Seat as I like the idea of the extra head restraint, the problem is I think the police will not like it as it reduces what can be seen to the side, car is track only but still regoed, run the gauntlet or not ?

Default Winged seat

I have one and it is dangerous to drive around on the road with as your visibility is dramatically reduced. If it is a streetcar I would not get one, you can get some very good seats without the wings.

i have the evolution and suzuka carbon technology. with the evolution you need to run a harness all the time as the sides are too high to use the normal seatbelt (well you could but might as well not even clip it in). once strapped in the evolution is downright dangerous for any lane changing as you have no peripheral vision. as a race seat its got all the bells and whistles but if you do any road/street driving then forget it. i vote with my bum on seat choice and i have to admit the suzuka is a much nicer place to be in.

Cheers guys, it's the problems I'm running into trying to use a regoed car that I wish was B regoed, a front cage (have rear) is going to be the next step and then I guess a trailer when I get done

If you treat it as though it was B rego, ie; drive to and from the track only, you shouldn't run into too many problems.

Do you need extra holes in the seat for a 6 pt. Thought the two extra straps looped back through the waist strap holes in the side.

Was thinking of getting a 6 pt myself but my cobra seat only has 4 strap holes.

Must be similar to my seat, you need a seat that has the hole in the base (near groin) to accommodate the 5-6 harness to stop you submarining under the dash during a front on crash.

Saw the rpm 6 pt and looks like they use common mounts for waist and leg straps. They look they just wrap round your leg.

Otherwise a 6pt would need two base holes in the seat.

What brand and colour is your old seat.

Current seat is a Sparco sprint, it doesn't have the hole in the base, current Sparco does, the 5-6 harness comes thru the seat base like the pics in the link5-6 Harness I have not seen the mod to use the side 3-4 lap holes.
