a brant doesnt stop car theft, considering how easy they are to bypass.

prepare for the lock down, someone has asked how to get passed brant..

Brant is actually very good and HAS saved my car from being stolen once already! As long as you use it with its intended purpose, It is worthwhile having.

It does play up here and there, but nothing that has ever stopped me from starting her up.

B.O.T. let us know how the exchange goes because my keypad is getting a little worn out.

Well, they are easy to by-pass if they are working properly...

Otherwise they are a minor nightmare to remove from your car as a novice!

Was, as Rexy said, simple plug n play. Mine didnt have the phone type plug it was a wider one but same same. The hardest part was getting the old one out, I had to pull apart most of the dash to get top dash console out (I have a GC8 sti) but a few choice words and idle threats and it all worked out in the end.

To get that top pocket thing out ..... undo the two screws at the top,(I also took off the lid just for convenience sake) then leaver it from the back and it will pop out of the groove that its in. Then you have to prise out the front sides near the air vents one at a time (I used a spatular ) it feels like ur gonna break it so do be careful. To get at where the keypad is plugged in you do need to be a bit of a contortionist but once ur bent in the right directions you just unplug it and plug the new one in n off u go.

Probably thread hi-jacking here, but ...

For those of you who have pulled your Brants out, what are you replacing them with, and why?

Cheers,

Wrxpc

+1 I would also like to know a half decent replacement alarm system for a GD which had brant, and someone reputable to install it.
