Default SF5 Forester suspension

Forester gurus,

Just wondering....what WRX suspension fits in an SF5 Forester? i.e. will GC8 struts drop in, or is something else required?

Cheers

All WRX suspension will bolt in apart from 05+ STi gear, unless you want to have the front strut modded. But if you go for WRX gear make sure it's wagon, otherwise you'll get bumsag.

You'll need to retain your old rear top hats as the Foz are GD pattern, I just stuck Forester struts in my GC8. You can also remove the spacers & change the sway bar mounts & lateral arm mounts to GC ones to get it even lower though most don't seem to bother.
I think I have Jamie's old struts in mine, you can have my old GC WRX struts for $150, they have only done 74k.

LOL I'm not chasing struts, I've had someone ask me what HSDs will fit in their Forester so I was just trying to find out

So GD rears and GC fronts?

GC8 and GD front strut top PCD pattern is the same. Only the rear differs.

So that would be GD front and rear to maintain balanced spring rates.

Otherwise with Gc8 front and GD rear he would end up with 7kg/mm springs front and rear. Would be quite tail happy.

Depends on the model forester.
The SF series need GC8 front and GD rear while the SG series have GD all round, this is for coilovers with camber tops. GD can fit in the SF but the camber top will be facing in an odd direction.
Oh and for struts, as said any model wrx or sti up to the 05+ STi which need to be modded (I had this before I went for coilovers)

Just buy a set of GD or GC coilovers and swap the tops? Or even just change springs? Can't imagine anyone goin out to buy front GC8 and rear GD, seems more expensive.
Can't you get Forester specific coilovers Joe?

I can do front GC and rear GD coilovers as a set, no problems at all....same price as an ordinary set.
