Well you can, I know you can. I've seen it done. Having said that, I know it's not a simple job and there are plenty of things to be taken into consideration. Don't get me wrong, I'm not sitting here thinking you can just do a few bolts up, attach some hoses and think it'll be all ok.
I only said "or simply bolting on a turbo kit" because I didn't want my previous post to go off topic.

just get some of those china spec headers for the n/a off e-bay

it you're going to do turbo conversion buy a gt foz or wrx front cut and swap the whole motor/ecu/gearbox/diff

the amount of stuffing around with just bolting on a turbo kit is just not worth it, you'll need to re-tune your existing ecu to suit the added turbo, your existing block/heads/comp ratio are not designed to handle boost so i wouldn't expect it to last very long even with as little as 8psi boost

Not gonna buy a GT/XT. Spent too much modding it for offroad use. I guess my best option is dropping at different engine in it.

yeah good price mate, i've got those on my foz with a vf-22, definate improvement in spool up & top end over stock headers, the only downsides are: they sound like poo (imho), they sit pretty low & you will have to ditch the plastic engine undertray
