Default Opinions on equal length headers

Just posting this thread to hear what people have to say about the way their equal length headers sound. I have recently purchased a set and can't hear them till the engine gets fired up in around a weeks time. I'm worried the car will sound cheap haha. Seen a couple of youtube vids with WRX's running them but it would be good to hear first hand from people that are running them. I personally love the unique sound of the WRX but am willing to sacrifice the sound for performance gains.

the more i hear it, the more i hate the sound of boxer rumble (its off beat and obnoxious), and i would swap it for the sound of crisp headers any day.

providing you have a decent exhaust to carry the note that is.

Good to hear, would you recommend heat wrapping them? My 3" exhaust is a mongrel 3" system with a Trust Cannon muffler. Can only hope it has a nasty growl when project is complete.

Can't tell you till the 21st. Just be turning the stereo up if I don't like it I guess.

I've gone ceramic coating but doing one of them seems to be the go.

competition and industrial coatings in kelmscott.
I had my headers (including up pipes (twin scroll)), turbine housing and heat shield coated... I think it was somewhere around $550-600.

Yea same same. Had headers done already. $330.

Up pipe Exhaust Housing and dump pipe going in Mon, will be around $400 +/- a little bit when they see them.

Hey hows yours holding up. Heard there were a few cases of it pealing off a few years ago. Guessing the paints are much better now but did make me wonder.

Not exactly cheap is it, I'll look into the cost of heat wrap.

Get them coated and wrapped if u can.

Equal length headers have the unusual race car sound. The car is also quieter until u stomp on it which is good for not creating any attention
