Gday everyone, posting this on a few forums as drivelines are shared.

I have a B4 liberty im just putting back together, engine and box are in, clutch is bled, however still not operating as i forgot to clip the thrust bearing into the pressure plate.

Does anyone have any tried and tested ideas to secure the bearing without separating the engine and box???

you should be able to just pull the clutch fork back toward the firewall firmly and it should just click into place.

might need to remove the slave cylinder to have enough room to pull on the fork.

took the pin out of the slave cylinder and had enough clearance, put a nice amount of weight on it also gave it a little tap with a knockometer but still no success...

Should just clip in. Hope the little circlip hasn't gone walkabout otherwise its engine or box out again. :-(

Sounds like the drama I had with mine. The circlip has fingers. It needs to snap into them to retain the thrust bearing. I cant see a way around it, I think you are gonna have to split them again.

Doesn't sound like fun pulling it apart again. I just finished fitting my engine and it won't start.. Grrrrrr. Good luck dude~! You should be able to force it on the pressure plate. I know that acess is limited but give a good shot. If not you'll be up for a few hours work.

righto, all sorted, was engaged all along, had to pump the clutch about 30 times to get it extend the operating cylinder ram to pick up the fork, bit more oil and good as gold.

ready to fire up now apart from issues with the crappy brant alarm system....

I was a little worried I thought you did a Tom, the last one he did he put the bearing around the wrong way LOL !
