Default Clutch

Hey guys got a quote from AutoClutch- $1050
Sti 6 speed clutch they use their own?? have many of you guys bought a clutch from there? i have done a lot of searching through old threads and believe the bloke Ross doesn't work there no more, still a good place to get the clutch done from?

Pros? cons? from getting a clutch that has been rebuilt as they say?

Thanks in advance.

I have Allstar Garage currently doing mine. I am getting an Exeedy sports organic for $1250 fitted. I was shocked at the price! Ebay have 6 speed Exeedy clutches for sale.

Quick Q,

Sorry to break into your thread Serbaru, (this might be of help to you though), Stace, (or any others running the above mentioned kits OR Exedy Organic or a performance variant), does it come with the thrust bearing and everything?

Also, more importantly, does anyone know clamp load increase, and what hp/kw rating, (fly or treads is fine), can these kits cope with?

Thanks in advance for decent 'on topic' replies. (Not x clutch is better than y clutch).

Cheers all,

Brent.

More importantly is what torque the clutch can handle which is a combination of clamp load, material on the face and how much contact area there is.

^ What he said.

Fair bump - Sorry, I didnt want to get people too bogged down in it. Hence why i was settling for the HP/KW number. If you wish to advise 'at x amount of torques' - thats fine too.

Brent.

Yes it does come with everything, thrust bearing included.

Spec Sheet for the above kit: FJK-7350 HD
http://www.exedy.com.au/SpecSheet.as...eetRowId=39355

Sports Tuff kits have the Anti Bursting Casting, the normal organic does not.

my clutch kit cost me $850 for a exedy sports tuff, comes with thrust bearing, and a instruction sheet how to remove the fork from the bearing cause there's a special way. I fitted my clutch myself without a workshop manual, there not to hard to do, just a bit fiderly on the ground.

Recommend doing spiget bearing while your doing it, and rear main if it hasnt been done before.

i had my exedy racing clutch recond at auto clutch. $600 including bearing.
from what i know all the workshops use ross at autoclutch when you get organic clutches from them. Autoclutch told me this themselves.
overall, if you have a good clutch it is worth reconditioning, if it just a hd or oem replacement just buy of ebay, or ABS in welshpool (abernathy road)
