Just tell the workshop you are heading to Collie & to spec-up the brake fluid. Rear pads do fuck-all - how's the front pads looking? Normal coolant & a 10W-60 might be a good choice.

Might save you a few dollars if you want but if not dont worry. I got some, not even 10,000km old NGK PFR6B's sitting on my desk doing sfa. I took em out as my car missfires with them in (for some odd reason). Its not the electrode, its the types of plug itself. It did it with the last set of pfr6bs aswel. My pfr7bs are fine with my car.....so these are still not even 1/5th way through their life.
Can i ask (Fred i think it is :P) why you would suggest 10w60? A more viscious oil because of the heat generated from so much WOT?

ive always been told, coolant is coolant, aslong as you get a decent type of it, you are pretty set. Otherwise id go with genuine subaru coolant, expensive but obviously better for the subarus.
I carry a 5ltr gen subaru one in my car at all times hehe.

Ive read a lot of threads on a few subaru forums and the overall general consensus is use only genuine coolant in subaru engines

Subaru coolant, Motul PFR600 brake fluid, quality 10W60 oil(Castrol is good and affordable.)
http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthre...issfire&page=4 Read from 4th post down and onwards about plugs recommendation for GC8s and avoid possible missfire!

Some people go stupid with expensive brake fluids, its as if their car is a dedicated track machine. Forget that..
Front pads for the track in a lightweight MY99/00 GC8 would be Bendix Ultimate. Anything harder and you will ruin your standard brake discs. A1RM Front pads would be good value too... http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/former-workshops-forum/26377-qfm-high-performance-street-track-pads.html Don't worry about the rears in yours as they do bugger all. Brake fluid.. Castrol Super Response Dot 4.1 (Silver Bottle) $12 ish... and a good brake bleed. Engine Oil. at 126 000Km.... Mobil Delvac mx Extra 10w40 Semi Synthetic recommended by the best Subi Engine builder in the country speaks for itself. Penrite 15w50 is another good semi synthetic. Castrol Edge Sport 10w60 would be good for your engine too. DO NOT BUY Motul Turbolite 4100 10w40, you will do a big end bearing... Its rubbish for track work and modded cars. Gearbox Oil on a 5 speed GC8: Redline Lightweight Shockproof (Smurf Snot) 1 gallon bottle needed. About 4 litres. Once the Redline goes in..... DO NOT change again to any other gearbox oil after the Smurf snot goes in. Redline does not mix well with other oils and you will gum up the oil galleries. 5 speed GC8 Synchros love it. So much easier to shift. Genuine Subi Coolant!! Replace Radiator Hoses if you have not already, they will likely be stuffed. Silicon items are good. How is you hotside plastic radiator endtank ? (the one connected to the top radiator hose). That will split very shortly, especially if the car has done 126 000Km. In fact replace the radiator with an all aluminium one NOW if your keeping the car. See Workshop thread for sources. J
