Default AIR FILTERS (last time, promise!!!)

Hey,

My mate's got a skyline and just by getting a K&N pod filter and removing or messing with the standard intake system or some shit, he has this crazy suction noise when driving and when he lays of the gas this loud psHHHH like noise occurs. (no BOV).

I was wondering if this could be achieved on a rex. I have a 99 rex, would it screw with the AFM. What filter is reccomended, i read K&N is oiled and that can screw the AFM.

Thanks.

you'll hear that whooshie noise if you take the intake resonator, snorkle looking thing attached to the air box

you'll hear this noise louder with a pod

and no oiled pod filters dont kill AFM, they eat it
kidding, over oiled filers CAN kill AFM

to be honest, even a flat panel filter that is overoiled can kill the AFM, not just pods

i looked at the resonator thingy today, it has a big box like part and then one snorkel goes to the air box and the other goes to the intake part.

Can you explain how i remove it and what i actually remove. is it the whole thing.

the removal of the snorkle bit takes around 10-15mins

the bit you want to take off is the snorkle
then whack an aftermarket panel filter in

which bit?

its the part that goes front the front, sits over the abs module
(it looks like a scoop on the left side)

i went panel to pod and unless the pod is totally shielded the panel is better.

Get a custom pipe done to put a pod in the inner guard and it should be hte best.
