Hey guys,

I am looking to upgrade my engine mounts and came across a set of 06 STi engine mounts going for pretty cheap. The part numbers for the mounts are D1010FE110 and D1010FE120, right/left respectively.

I have an 03 STi engine with the STi engine mounts.
The only reason i was interested in the 06 STi mounts is that i have read somewhere that in 06-07 STi models, they came with hardened mounts similar to the Group N items. Did the 06-07 STi's come with harder engine mounts, or is what i read false?

Also, i googled the part numbers and came up with mixed results. Some sites i came across call them just OEM STi mounts, where some name them the Group N items. Links are below.

I guess my question is:
Will the engine mounts with the part numbers mentioned above be an upgrade to my 03 STi engine mounts?

Do WRX and STi's have the silver mounting plate, or is it just the STi's?

The standard MY06 engine mounts are definitely not similar to Group N ones.
I had mine replaced since with the standard ones, on hard launches the engine was twisting so much that the intercooler dinged the titanium strut brace. Had them replaced with the Group N (round) mounts and haven't had that problem since...but be warned that the NVH definitely increases.
