K Band will pick up the cop cars with side mounted radars, so I leave K active on mine and always on "Highway" mode (RX65). It doesnt go off that frequently and usually only around servos and fast food joints. Learnt to tune it out, and on regular routes harldy notice it. Saved me a few times so the minor annoyance is worth it for me.
Cheers. K band pretty much buzz off about 10-15 times while I was on my way to the city. Its driving me crazy so I was wondering if K band is in use.

Using a RX65 as well.

Yes K band is used.

Its used for vehicle mounted radar and handheld radar (not handheld laser).

K band is a necessity if you do any country driving... Helps me pick up the highway patrol nice and early when I visit friends out Mundajong way...

Take it to the gumbys at neltronics and ask them to fix it. They will give you some bullshit excuse and charge you for it, but who knows... Stranger things may happen and they might actually do some work and fix the problem.

I want the X50...Quite expensive though.

Intra 24-12-2005 12:28 PM

Neltronics ship the units back to the US for service, last-time i went they offered me a month return as they needed to fill a few more units up to send it in a batch. (to save costs)

If its a locally bought unit, they will swap it straight away i believe..

I wouldn't think its a problem.. Its a brand new unit and it seems to sound off at the same location each time I drive by it. I'd have to agree K band is driving me nuts even when Auto mute is on.

You will find if you email Mark (the guy you biught that radar detector off) he may be able to help you out with getting it fixed. Mine did that after a month and he gave me a brand new one.
