Hey guys just want your opinion.

i can get my hands on a vf22 turbo, for free. but the compressor and turbine wheel fins are a bit bent and i dont know what else is wrong with it.

should i grab it and send it to turbo tech to fix up and if i do probably get it hi-flow at the same time, or is it a waste of time. O this is to go on my 97wrx aswell.

IMO, not worth the expense rebuilding a dead VF turbo. Take the P20 housing off the back and stick it on another working VF turbo either new or second hand.

To my knowledge, you can't hi-flow the 22 unless you have an air-balancer.
VF22 is ball bearing which means it has a tapered shaft. So placing another comp wheel on and balancing like normal straight shaft is not so simple with the usual balancing equipment etc.

If the cartridge is shagged as well (quite possible if blades are bent- unless this was just due to absence of BOV or something?) you may as well salvage the housing like Ludwig said and chuck the rest in the bin...
