They have an internal hex for holding the shaft with a suitable allen key.

As Jester said you dont realey need to change them. There is alot more NVH with them, I think its from them anyway but there a few more knocking from the rear when I go over bumps and curves.

I fitted bigger swaybar and HD mounts at the same time. I dont know about the 05 STi but with my 04 I still need to get the lockout for the sway bar to stop it from sliding sidways. That may be why i have these knocking sounds.

You can still snap the later model end links, but you need to be trying really REALLY hard to do so. The GC8's were reknown for snapping links (even the replacement steel units from whiteline back in the late 90's early 00's). Spherical ended units like on oem sti are fairly rugged. If you do a bit of motorsport/track time, sure its some insurance, otherwise they are a nice gold colour

It says in the fitting instructions of the links, under optional parts to use to use W0450-(size) swaybar lateral lock kit to prevent lateral swaybar movement.

I need them because my swaybar sometimes move so far sideways that it only stops because it hits the links. I still have to order them, and see if it helps.

When I installed the front and rear sway bars, only the front came with the lateral locking kit already installed, however the back had nothing.

I had a lot of knocking from the back and just bought the rear lateral locking kit for like $20 which solved it. You could probably just use thick cable ties and loctite for a substitute. Also I don't have to regrease the rear bushes as much now that the bar doesn’t slide from left to right.

In regards to the end links, I'm thinking about putting the OEM rosejoint links back in, as the Whiteline ones are starting to corrode and make a lot of noise.
